A murder convict lodged in Chhattisgarh's Durg Central Jail reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself on Saturday. Diwakar Yogi (23), who was from Parpodi village in Bemetara, was found guilty in a murder case and was serving life sentence.
He was found hanging in the Jail Hospital around 8 am, with a bedsheet used as a rope, jailer Durg Yogesh Singh said. Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu ordered a detailed inquiry into the incident after he was briefed about it by Additional Director General of Police Sanjay Pillai, an official press release said.
