PWD Minister Rajesh Munat on Friday distributed cheques amounting to a total of `9.50 lakh to 20 women self-help groups (SHGs) as loan in his office at his residence in the city.
This amount has been sanctioned under State Government's ‘Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh Yojana' to women self-help groups of various wards, officials stated.
On the occasion, Corporator Ashish Agrawal and number of beneficiaries from women self-help groups was also present.
Munat said that the State Government is conducting various programmes for alleviation of poverty.
In the same sequence, women-self help groups are provided financial assistance under ‘Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh Yojana’. The loans provided under the scheme prove helpful in their self-employment ventures, he said.
