Hitting back at Congress candidate Satyanarayan Sharma for accusing BJP candidate Ramesh Bais of ‘ineffectiveness,’ Raipur West legislator Rajesh Munat on Wednesday dared him for a public debate with him on the issue.
Munat said Sharma should tell about his achievements when he was a minister and legislator of the Congress party. let him name one piece work he has done for the people of the state, Munat asked.
Reacting strongly on the candle march organised by the Congress leaders against Bais, Munat said Sharma worked as a minister and legislator for 20 years but never had done anything significant for the state.
Speaking to reporters, Munat said Bais during his tenure as a Union minister had taken several initiatives for the development of Chhattisgarh. He has played a major role in the establishment of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the state.
While AIIMS has yet to be established in several states of the country, it has started functioning in Raipur.
Munat said the Monnet steel plant was set up at Mandirhasaud in Sharma’s assembly constituency but people of the area have been protesting against pollution but the Congress legislator seems to be little bothered, he said. Munat said he is ready to debate with Sharma at any platform.
