Published on:

Chief Minister Raman Singh on Monday informed the Chhattisgarh Assembly that the rise in power tariff had been due to increase in establishment cost of new power generation units.

There had also been a rise in the power transmission costs besides rise in Rail transportation rates and cost of coal and furnace oil, he said in a written reply to Congress member Amit Jogi.

Singh said that the power tariff also rose due to rise in cost of spares which resulted in the rise in cost of power production.
