In a bid to provide better price to forest produce of tribals and forest dwellers, Chhattisgarh government on Friday declared minimum support price of Rs 109 for Chironji seed shell.
Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar said the state government was committed to provide adequate and reasonable price for minor forest produce so that the tribal forest dwellers could earn their livelihood and the standard of their lives is upgraded.
Under the minimum support price scheme of the Union government, the state government has taken the decision regarding Chironji seed shell, Akbar said.
Managing Director Chhattisgarh State Minor forest produce Cooperative Federation Rakesh Chaturvedi instructed the concerned officials to provide necessary amount to the cooperative societies timely so that the tribal and forest dwellers are benefitted.
