The Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) will soon commence the work for setting up a ‘Technology Centre’ in the district, officials informed.
The Ministry had been implementing ‘Technology Centre Systems Programme’, under which 15 new Technology Centres are to be established in the country.
For selection of places for new Centres, preference has been given to States, in which there is no Micro Small and Medium Enterprise Technology Centre at present, officials stated.
The remaining places have been identified on need basis and response from State Governments. The Technology Centres are going to be set up during the implementation period of six years commencing January 2015.
The Ministry of MSME is currently running 18 Technology Centres (10 Tool Rooms and 8 Technology Development Centres) to provide technological support to the micro, small and medium industries in the Country.
Notably, with a view to accelerating industrial development in Chhattisgarh, the State government will be setting up an Engineering Park in every district in a sequential manner, said Chief Minister Raman Singh in November last year.
Dedicating a newly-developed Engineering Park in Hathkhoj industrial area situated near the Steel City Bhilai , Singh had stated that Bhilai is famous across the country and abroad as ‘mini India’ and the newly set up Engineering Park is going to play a remarkable role in boosting up industrial development of the State.
