Sister of BJP Member of Parliament Nand Kumar Sai allegedly committed suicide by immolation after dousing with kerosene oil, police said on Wednesday. Police, however, was not able to clear the reason behind taking of this extreme step.
The Station House Officer Tapkara, Rajesh Marai talking with The Pioneer over phone informed that Kaushilya Bai Paikara around 40 years allegedly committed suicide by burning self.
“Kaushilya Bai used to live in Tapakara with his family. Police got information about the incident around 11 pm on Tuesday night. She was then rushed to a city hospital on 108 Ambulance from where Kaushilya Bai was rushed to Ambikapur,” the SHO said and added that Kaushilya Bai Paikara breathed her last on Wednesday morning in Ambikapur.
When questioned about any kind of suicide note, the SHO denied and said that the crime scene has been sealed and would be thoroughly investigated in presence of senior police officer. Kaushilya Bai is survived by 2 children. Meanwhile, when contacted the Superintendent of Police Jasphur he denied of having any information about such incident.
