A widow along with her daughter-in-law and a grandson hailing from Kanisi village on the city outskirts are now running from pillar to post to seek protection from none other than her own wayward son.   According to information, Rajani Das wife of deceased agriculture engineer Maheswar Das has been living with her son Krushna Das, daughter-in-law laxmi Das and a grandson in the village. Krushna had married laxmi of Gosainnuagaon in 2011. Since then, he had been asking laxmi to bring Rs1.5 lakh more dowry. In the meanwhile, he has also fallen in with a widow of the village who has already four children.

According to Rajani, Krushn has attacked them many times in order to kill them. Recently, Rajani lodged a complaint in the Golanthara police station seeking help. But the police could not take any action on her complaint. Then she lodged an FIR with the woman police station. Here also police criticised Rajani stating that how she could not be able to control her own son and what can police doIJ

On June 8 night when Krushna attacked them with a heavy iron rod, Rajani and laxmi tried a lot and managed to lock Krushna from outside. They then walked through the night and reached SP office but could not meet the SP. They then approached the Pramila Devi Mahila Kalyan Sangh. With help of sangh members, Sajani and laxmi met the Brahmapur Sub-Collector on Monday and urged him to arrest Krushna without delay.
