The Southwest Monsoon, which has been sluggish for several days, is expected to become active again over Chhattisgarh from Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.
The department has forecast good rainfall in the coming days in the state. Weather scientist Dr H.P. Chandra said a single cyclic cyclonic circle was situated at coastal Odisha at a height of 2.1-3.6 km.
That and other favourable conditions will revive the monsoon in the state, he said.
Most places in Chhattisgarh will get rains on Sunday. There is a possibility of heavy rains in the districts of Bastar division on July 11 and 12, he said.
