BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has tasked his trusted team in the Gujarat unit to visit Chhattisgarh and assess the people's mood ahead of the lok Sabha polls, top sources in the BJP’s Gujarat unit told The Pioneer.

Several teams from the party’s Gujarat unit are expected to visit Chhattisgarh and other key States to work with the party's State-level units till the polls get over, sources informed. “The prime agenda is to assess the people’s response to ‘Modi for PM’ campaign where district and booth level workers in Chhattisgarh are already bracing up for a aggressive campaign across 27 districtsof Chhattisgarh,'' the  sources added .

This would also be the first time since the last lok Sabha polls that there would be such a massive work integration of the various State-level units of the BJP working together for promoting the party’s prime ministerial candidate, sources claimed. During the 2009 lok Sabha polls a similar exercise was held when senior party leader l K Advani was projected as the ‘Prime Minister in Waiting’ when the veteran leader fought the polls from the Gandhinagar seat in Gujarat.

The teams which would fan out across states have been asked to gather feedback and report them back to the Gujarat Chief Minister for an early assessment of the efficacy of the ‘Modi for PM’ campaign even before the dates for lok Sabha polls are announced, sources informed. Meanwhile, BJP’s Chhattisgarh unit had already started making preliminary preparations to prepare publicity material approved by the party’s central leadership required for ‘Modi for PM’  campaign.

Another interesting aspect of Modi’s poll plans are to hold meetings over tea in select Raipur locations with his supporters pending security clearances, party sources here informed.
