With the Modi government completing seven years in office, the Chhattisgarh Congress on Monday accused it of betraying the people’s trust and reversing all economic gains made during the UPA government.
Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey told the media: “The seven-year rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been fatal for the country. Modi is the most unsuccessful Prime Minister of the country."
The Centre has failed on all fronts, be it business, agriculture, education, GDP or inflation, he said.
Citing a Supreme Court comment, Choubey said the Modi government hid its face like an ostrich during the crucial period of pandemic.
“The Modi government abandoned its people and abdicated its duty and responsibility in the middle of Covid-19. It laid the responsibility of controlling the pandemic to the state,” he said.
“The person who had said ‘Desh nahi bikne dunga’ has sold off airports, ports, railway tracks, mines and PSUs while not a single PSU or major irrigation project was launched in these seven years,” Choubey said.
Senior Minister Mohammad Akbar termed Modi a ‘jumlebaaz’. Not a single promise has been fulfilled by him, whether it was generating two crore employment or providing Rs 15 lakh of black money to each citizen, he said.
Akbar said the country has fallen to the 102nd position comparable to the earlier 92 on the Development Index.
Ministers Premsai Singh, Amarjeet Bhagat and Kawasi Lakhma also spoke to the media.
