Demanding closure of illegal liquor shops mushrooming in Jhalap Patewa, hundreds of Bharatiya Janata Nirman Mazdoor Sangh (BJNMS) workers led by MlA Dr Vimal Chopra gheraoed Patewa police station.Alleging that bootleggers are running their business without any fear in Jhalap Patewa under the patronage of Patewa police, the villagers gathered at Patewa Government High School and then reached Patewa police station to gherao it.

With this, both the village and the villagers were being affected. Incidents of brawl have increased in the village due to alcoholism, he added.
He warned that if action were not taken against illegal liquor shops mushrooming in the village, he, along with the villagers, would be compelled to stage fast unto death after the Assembly on-going session.Rajendra Gangwanshi, Manohar Sahu, Shammi Saluja, Sunil Patel, Dr Ramratan Patel and other villagers were present on the occasion.
