The Mission Hospital that came under attack from several quarters for alleged stealing of the kidneys of a woman who died during treatment in it has got a clean chit after an autopsy confirmed that her kidneys were intact here on Monday.

According to sources, Santoshi Bai (25), wife of Surendra, a resident of Jhaphal, Damapur was admitted to the Mission Hospital for delivery on Friday.  Since she was not in a position to have a normal delivery, the doctors performed a Caesarean on her. She gave birth to a healthy boy.

The mother who was brought to the hospital in a critical condition began to develop bleeding and finally she succumbed to it on Sunday. The relatives and other friends of her family accused the hospital of stealing her kidneys that led to her death and created ruckus in the hospital. They also demanded that autopsy of her be conducted by team of experienced doctors.

As her relatives created unruly scenes in the hospital and mounted pressure, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) constituted an expert team of doctors to conduct her autopsy in which the hospital was given a clean chit. In view of the serious situation in the hospital, the SDM and other senior officials also were present on the spot to take stock of the situation.
