A minor girl was allegedly gang raped by three persons who attempted to kill her by slashing her wrist here .
Three accused have been arrested so far in the case, a police officer informed here on Tuesday.
According to the police, a 17-year-old girl from Jashpur has registered a report in this connection. Station House Officer Kotwali, GS Dubey informed that the accused Vipul Minj who is friend of the victim contacted her on March 29 and took her to Raigarh.
The family of members of the girl came to know that she was with Vipul but did not report the matter with the police, SHO told The Pioneer over phone.
On May 14, Vipul brought the girl back to Jashpur and handed her over to her brother. Seeing the bad health condition of girl, he admitted the girl in a hospital. The police then got the information about the victim, SHO said.
later on, the girl in her statement given before the Magistrate said that Vipul, his elder brother Vikas Minj and one of their cousins Kundan Minj had gang raped her at Raigarh. She also alleged that Vipul’s mother had cut the veins of her hand in presence of Vipul’s father Nirantar Minj.
Based on victim’s statement, police has registered a case against Vipul Minj, Vikas Minj, Kundan, Minj, Nirantar Minj and Vipul’s mother under relevant Sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act 2012.
Police has arrested Kundan, Vipul and his father Nirantar Minj. Vikas and her mother are yet to be arrested, police said.
