Women and Child Development Department Raipur has suspended two Supervisors for serious dereliction of duty with immediate effect. The two Supervisors are Kalibadi Integrated Child Development Project of Raipur Sunita Srivastava and Tilda Project Sector Kharora Kamlesh lakda.

The orders to suspend were given by Women and Child Development Minister Ramsheela Sahu. Director of Women and Child Development Directorate, Dilip Wasnikar has issued the suspension orders, an official press release issued here on Monday stated. It may be recalled that Minister Ramsheela Sahu made a surprise visit to  an Aanganwadi located at Sudama Nagar (Tikrapara) on 17 April at 9 am.

She found only one child at the Anganwadi Centre. The workers and ‘Sahikas’ gave different answers when questioned regarding the number of children at Anganwadi centre. Nothing was mentioned on the board also.

The Anganwadi worker and ‘Sahika’ were also not in official uniform. The food was not in a hygienic condition. The Anganwadi register was also not properly maintained. Sahu took the alleged dereliction of duty seriously and ordered the concerned officers to issue suspension orders .

Other Supervisor Kamlesh lakda never allegedly visited the Tilda Integrated Child Development Project Kharora anganwadi after  May 2, 2014. The Minister was informed by the District Programme Officer at the State-level Review Meeting on  April 7 at  the Mantralaya. The District Programme Office during his inspection on April 4 found that the lakda was not attending to the duties for  the past many months and the food articles were lying in bad state.
