Leader of Opposition Dharamalal Kaushik has said Urban administration minister Shiv Kumar Dahariya should apologize to the tribal community of the state for his alleged derogatory comment against the community members.
As per reports, Dahariya at an event had suggested that tribal youth should learn to fix punctures to earn their livelihood.
Kaushik interacting with media during BJP’s membership drive meeting on Saturday said tribal community of Chhattisgarh is world renowned for their culture, art and heritage and the other day International Day of the World’s Indigenous People, was celebrated by the state government by holding programmes.
He said under Raman Singh government, from Bastar to Sarguja, various developmental programmes, infrastructure and education were given emphasis with an aim to see tribal youth in IAS, IPS and other administrative posts at state-level. It was done to make them self-reliant and progressive.
“But a Congress minister is using such a derogatory word undermining their contribution to the society, which is an insult to the hopes and aspirations of the community. This has exposed the true picture of ruling party’s attitude towards the tribal community in contrast to its claim of being protectors of rights of the community,” he said.
