Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister, Punnulal Mohle on Wednesday held a meeting to review preparations for paddy procurement and custom milling under the minimum support price (MSP) policy for 2014-15.
Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal and Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ajay Chandrakar also participated in the meeting.
A detailed discussion on making policies for paddy procurement during the ongoing Kharif season was held in the meeting. Emphasis was given on making proper arrangements for purchasing paddy from the farmers.
Besides, the meeting also decided to take the cooperative committees’ help in teaching the farmers to bring paddy of standard quality for procurement.
Deliberation was also held on deciding the custom milling policy and to ensure 100 per cent receiving of the paddy stocks from the cooperative committees within 15 days of concluding the procurement.
Principal Secretary, Food Department, Dr Alok Shukla along with senior officials from the departments concerned attended the meeting.
