Minister for Industries Kawasi Lakhma on Tuesday inspected the Rajyotsava site and gave necessary directions for according final touches to this three-day long grand gala state function.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi will inaugurate the function on state establishment day on November 1. Senior officials of administration and police were present during the inspection of minister.
Lakhma later talking to reporters praised Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for giving the function a local touch by promoting state folk artistes instead of Bollywood cine stars.
"The folk artistes of Bastar and Surguja have been for the first time given priority in the state function and I am grateful towards the state chief minister for it," he said.
Claiming that 10 months old Congress government had done as much works as had been done in 15 year rule of the BJP, Lakhma said Rajyotsava this year would be the best ever.
