Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel declared in a public meeting here on Wednesday that giant memorials would be established at Jheeram massacre incident site as well as district headquarters Jagdalpur in memory of martyrs who lost their lives earlier in Maoist attack.
Recalling the massacre of an entire generation of top rank of the State-level Congress party leadership in the Jheeram incident, Baghel said soon memorials would established in the region.
Notably, the then Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Nandkumar Patel, veteran Congress leader Vidyacharan Shukla, former Leader of Opposition, Mahendra Karma, Congress leader from Rajnandgaon, Uday Mudliyar were among 29 persons who were massacred in the incident.
Earlier the other day the Chief Minister offered worship at Danteshwari Temple on the occasion of New Year and took her blessings while initiating his Bastar tour after taking the charge of Chief Minister of the state.
