In the wake of appeals from Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, farmers across Chhattisgarh have come forward to donate paddy straw.
Under the direction of Collector of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, Dr Fariha Alam Siddiqui, a mega campaign for paddy stubble donation will be launched for all Gauthans in the district on December 1.
Paddy harvesting is underway at a rapid pace in the district. Keeping this in view, a campaign is being run by the government to encourage farmers to donate the paddy straw left after harvesting instead of burning it.
It is explained to the farmers that burning paddy stubble harms the environment and the soil quality.
