As per information, the routine OPD, emergency services, surgery, medicine department, gynecology and other departments could not function properly.

Junior doctors have been staging sit-in-demonstration in college premises since Wednesday alleging laxity on the part of the state government towards their three ‘valid demands’ viz security of doctors, raising their stipend amount and amending the rural-service clause of their bond.

Minister of health and family welfare T. S. Singhdeo supported the cause of the agitating junior doctors stating that their demands could be resolved by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. They should approach him for it.

Dr Bhagwati Verma, president of the Junior Doctors’ Association when contacted said, “Health minister T. S. Singhdeo have backed our demands stating it is vlaid. Raipur City North MLA Kuleep Juneja also arrived to support our strike. We have sought time to meet the Chief Minister for talks, but till now, it has not been granted.”

“As announced we have skipped the emergency services from Friday. We are intensifying our agitation till our demands are not met,” Dr Verma added.
