The managing director of multi-crore Chit Fund company ‘HBN’ has been arrested, Inspector General of Police (IGP) (Raipur) GP Singh informed on Sunday. “Aman Deep Sharan, the MD of HBN was arrested by a special police team from his residence based in Delhi,” the IGP said. According to the IGP, the company had collected around `90 crore from people of Chhattisgarh and had affected over 20,000 people associated with it. “Across the country, the company had embezzled around `1100 crore,” he said adding, majority of the victims of this Chit Fund company are in rural areas. “I would like to request the people of the State not to try any schemes launched by any company which offer returns much higher than the government rates,” he mentioned. The IGP advocated for the need of an Anti-chit fund Act which would strengthen the hands of police.
