On the occasion of world environment day, Mayor Pramod Dubey planted saplings in Agrasen Nagar. The residents of the colony also took part in the sapling plantation drive and took the oath of stopping water, soil and air pollution. Deputy General Manager (Public Relations) Chhattisgarh Power Company Vijay Mishra who also participated in the drive gifted a sampling of ‘Mogra’ flower to the Mayor.
The Mayor addressing gathering said “every person should plant saplings in his life and also care it like a child. Personal initiatives are important for realizing the dream of Green Chhattisgarh and clean city,” he added. Vijay Mishra sharing his views said that welcoming guest garlands is act of ending lives of plants because it is through flowers, fruits and seeds are developed. Therefore ending flower is ending the generation of plants. The occasion was marked with presence of ward corporator Deenbandhu Thakur and others.
