Mayawati to address public meeting in Janjgir on April 14

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is pulling out all stops to win Janjgir Lok Sabha seat as the party is locked in a close triangular fight with two other main contenders the Congress and the BJP.

Janjgir is a Scheduled Caste reserved seats, with a strong BSP support base.

To bolster its poll prospect, the BSP supremo Mayawati will address a public meeting in the constituency on the birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar, a Dalit icon, on April 14.

State BSP president Hemant Poyam while talking to The Pioneer confirmed Mayawati’s programme. He said they were hoping good results in the upcoming general elections in the state where the party is likely to contest all the 11 seats.

“Dauram Ratnakar, the BSP candidate from the seat, is certainly going to wi,” said Poyam.

Being a SC dominated constituency, the party candidate has a better winning prospect here and that’s why even the party supremo is also giving special attention on this particular seat, he said.

The regional party, Janta Congress Chhattisgarh-JCC-J is having an alliance with the BSP in the state. The JCC-J is backing BSP candidates in all the 11 LS seats in the state.

Apart from BSP candidate Ratnakar, the other main contestants in the fight for the constituency are Congress candidate Ravi Parasram Bhardwaj and BJP candidate Guharam Ajgale.
