Marriage registration in Chhattisgarh is being done through Chhattisgarh Online Information for Citizen Empowerment (CHOiCE) centres and it will take 7-10 days once a married couple applies for it.
Additional Collector Mahadev Kavre reviewed the status of different services provided through CHOiCE centres.
Kavre reviewed the status of marriage registration, Caste certificate, domicile certificate, etc being provided through CHOiCE centres.
He instructed the agents to deposit the service charges for these facilities with the Collectorate. He said that the agents should always bear in mind that official and departmental charges need to be deposited in time.
Kavre instructed the officers of CHiPS to hold orientation programme for CHOiCE agents regarding services like registration of marriage, death and birth, domicile certificate, food license etc.
He asked the officers to hold a meeting on July 11 to discuss upon different issues of the agents.
The agents informed the officer that registration of marriages is going on through CHOiCE centers. Recently a family in Raipur had approached CHOiCE center for a marriage certificate as they needed it urgently for going abroad. Their marriage registration was done within given time period through CHOiCE center.
