Maoists set mixer machine afire

Published on:

large number of Maoist ultras raided  Halbaras village under Kunakonda police station in Dantewara district last night and set a concrete mixer machine on fire, turning one of its tyres into ashes. It was their second attempt to set ablaze the machine engaged in road construction at this place.

Ultras thronged the Mailawada-Halbaras road where a bridge is under construction and from mixer machine’s fuel tank they took out diesel and poured the same on to the tyre before setting it on fire.

On Thursday night also they had attempted to burn the mixer machine but their effort was foiled by security personnel. It is to be noted that ultras are against the construction of bridge and road in this region and had recently issued a letter forbidding such activities in the area. However, the police denied any such information.

last fortnight the Nakulnar–Shyamgiri road has been built in presence of police force. Meanwhile, the contractor has filed an FIR regarding the incident of machine burning in Kuankonda police station. Station incharge Vivek Shukla said that a case has been registered against unidentified ultras and search is going on in full swing to nab the culprits.
