Maoist insurgents who had abducted two Government employees going to Bijapur on Tuesday released them on Friday after sustained interrogation and thrashing them badly.
Both the freed employees, who had returned to Usur, are in such a terrified State that they are hardly able to give any information to police.
Bijapur Assistant Superintendent of Police Ashok Singh while confirming the release of the two
abducted employees said
that police are interrogating them to ascertain the facts about abduction.
Notably, posted in Awapalli Tehsil office of Bijapur district as Grade III Assistant cashier, Manohar Singh Pisda and peon in the same office Salitram Thakur were going on Motorcycle to Bijapur for some official work on Tuesday. However, they were stopped by well dressed and armed Maoists hiding near Chitapur village. The gorillas took them in to jungle on gun point after their abduction.
According to the freed Government employees,
rebels kept them moving for almost the three days blind folded therefore they were not able to recognise the place where they were taken and kept during the captivity.
Sources said that in fact Maoist insurgents thought the two Government officials as police jawans and
abducted them and kept interrogating them till they were fully satisfied that the two were not police personnel. The Maoists finally released them in jungle near Usur on Friday morning.
