A Naxalite carrying a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head was arrested in Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh, police said on Tuesday.
Dantewada Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari told The Pioneer that Sona alias Hunga Madkam (35) was apprehended on Monday by the District Reserve Guard and CRPF’s 11th Battalion from a jungle in Burgum village.
He was the President of Janatana Sarkar of Burgum Panchayat of the outlawed Maoist outfit, he said.
He was involved in several Naxalite incidents between 2016 and 2020.
