A Naxalite carrying a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head surrendered on Tuesday to security forces in Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh.
Dantewada Superintendent of Police Siddharfth Tiwari identified him as Raju Lekam, 35.
Lekam was the Jantana Sarkar President of Hurrepal Panchayat in the Bhairamgarh Area Committee of the outlawed Maoist outfit.
He was involved in several Naxalite incidents between 2008 and 2020 in the district.
So far, 592 Naxalites have given up violence in Dantewada.
