A Naxalite on Tuesday surrendered to security forces in Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh. Lakhma Vanjam (26) turned himself in, citing disappointment with the Maoist ideology, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai said.
He was a member of the Gondaras Panchayat Gram Rakshak Dal (GRD) in the outlawed Maoist group.
Vanjam was involved in several Maoist incidents, the officer added.
So far, 656 Naxalites, 167 of them carrying cash rewards, have given up violence in Dantewada.
