A Maoist memorial constructed in the dense forests of Amlipadar in insurgency-infested Gariaband district bordering Odisha was demolished by security forces, police said on Wednesday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Naxal Operations), l David informed that a joint team of District Force and CRPF was conducting search operations in the jungles of Amlipadar when they got information about the Maoist Memorial near the forest of Peepalkhunta village. The police force reached at the spot and razed down the 18-feet high memorial constructed by Maoists in the memory of their slained cadres, the ASP said.
