Dantewada Police claimed to have arrested a reward carrying Maoist insurgent allegedly involved in the murder of BJP leader Shivdayal Singh Tomar. During the interrogation linga alias Vijay accepted that due to tiff over payment of money Tomar was killed.
Dantewada SP Narendra Khare informed that after receiving information that Maoist linga alias Vijay (34) had come to his native village Toelanka the district police acted quickly and in a systematic way cordoned his house and arrested him. During the interrogation he revealed that in collusion with dreaded Maoists of Kateklyan Dalam Sukhram, Sannu and Joga he had killed Tomar as after promising to pay Rs 60 thousand he had bachtracked. Tomar also used to harass labourers and unlawfully deducted wages of poor workers besides taking extra work from them.
linga told police that before the murder, he had a brawl with Tomar in which the BJP leader had given him threat. When he informed the Dalam Commander about the threat the latter had given green signal to eliminate Tomar.
