A senior Maoist ultra who was a terror icon in Kondagaon district and was carrying a cash reward of Rs8 lakh on his head, surrendered before the Kondagaon Police. A woman ultra who was also the active member of a Naxal jan-militia group also gave up arms and surrendered before police. Both the rebels laid down arms before the Superintendent of Police Kondagaon, Abhishek Meena. The surrendered ultras have been identified as Fulsingh Korram (32), resident of Adnar and Ramoli Netam (25), hailing from Madnar village under Bayanar police station. “Fulsingh was a senior Maoist ultra who was involved in several terror activities and police were looking for him for several years,’’ Meena remarked moments after the rebel surrendered.

Meena stated that Fulsingh had decided to surrender and join mainstream development as he was constantly pressurised by his senior in Maoists to extort more money from local traders to fund terror activities in Kondagaon district. Fulsingh had joined the Naxals in 2009 and initially used to support Maoists in gathering food and transportation. later after training, he was appointed as a guard of Maoist DVC. He was then made member of local Organising Squad (lOS) after which Fulsingh was included in Naxal company number 6,’’ Meena informed. Ramoli Netam, a member of Naxal Janmilita active in Bayanar region had joined Naxal cadre in 2005. She is wife of Maoist Govind, who has already surrendered. Ramoli was in constant touch of Kondagaon police and she is reportedly lured by the State Government’s rehabilitation policy, Meena added.
