Police claimed to have unravelled the Manoj Pardhi murder mystery that took place a week ago at Chhote Birejhar of Ghumka area. Manoj’s body was found near a lake in the village on September 30. The police took two youths in custody on the charges of murder.
The police said that Manoj was killed over love affair. The crime branch team received information that deceased Manoj was in love with a woman in the same village. Accused Gopal, resident of Khapri Durg, also was in love with the woman. During interrogation, the accused told police that to eliminate Manoj from his way he murdered him.
One day before the murder, the accused had gone to his brother-in-law’s house to attend a programme. He, through one Gopal, resident of Charbhatta, invited Manoj near the lake and then rained lathis on his head. After that, they crushed his head with stones and killed him. After getting confirmed that Monoj is dead, they threw the body near the lake.
The police sent both the accused to jail on judicial remand. Superintendent of police Dr Sanjiv Shukla praised the Crime Branch and Ghumka police team besides declaring reward, for unraveling the murder mystery.
