Terming the tenure of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh as the worst, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former deputy Prime Minister lK Advani alleged that the economist Prime Minister’s regime was fraught with the biggest scams of the country. Stepping up his attack further the veteran BJP leader call the UPA Government a Sonia-Manmohan regime where Manmohan has little to say and called upon the people to vote for BJP.
Addressing a well attended election rally at the ground of lal Bahadur Shastri School in the middle of the city on Saturday, Advani said “So far, 14 Prime Ministers ruled the country, of which six remained on the post for a few months only, but among all the Prime Ministers, the period of economist Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was the worst. The amount of teasing and scorn heaped over Manmohan Singh during his 10-year period, had never happened in the country. Trusting him, people made an economist Prime Minister, who belied their hopes as the biggest scam was committed during his regime. Now, the time has come for the people to take the right decision. If people seem what the BJP has said, has been done and Atalji had given the country a better Government, then they should cast votes in favour of the BJP,” he exhorted.
Praising the Narendra Modi Government in Gujarat and the Shivraj Singh Government in MP and the Chhattisgarh Government, Advani said that the PDS system of Chhattisgarh has been lauded throughout the country as also the Planning Commission hailed it asking other States to implement this in their respective States.
On forming government at the Centre, Advani said that Third Front could never form government in the country. Even though there is no two-party system in our country, but the central politics remains between the BJP and the Congress. Any other government had been formed, was with the blessings of either the BJP or the Congress, he added.
Terming the UPA government guilty of inflation, Advani said that life of the poor in the country has become difficult. He claimed that inflation had been stopped during the NDA government at the Centre. He said that during the period of Atal, better work was done in the country, whether it was the formation of Chhattisgarh state or testing of nuclear bomb at Pokaran. Atal government had significant role in making the country internationally fame, he added.
