Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced on Saturday that Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur will be the name of one of the four new districts which was earlier named Manendragarh.
The key thought behind the announcement of the new districts was to work faster in the areas of education, health, employment and others, he said.
Baghel was addressing a delegation of people of two newly announced districts, Manendragarh and Sakti, at his official residence here.
He said Chhattisgarh is geographically the ninth largest state in the country with sparse population in many areas. Due to geographical locations, the government faces problems in taking official schemes to the general public.
With the formation of the new districts, the distance between the administration and the public will be reduced and it will help strengthen governance.
Assembly Speaker Dr Charan Das Mahant said the long pending demands of the people of Manendragarh and Sakti that they become districts has been fulfilled.
