'Managing People Successfully' workshop by PHDCCI

A day-long Workshop was organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) on the topic “Managing People Successfully” here on Wednesday.The session was conducted by  CM Krishna, Honorary Advisor to PHDCCI and Dr (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director General, Jagannath Institute of Management and Science.

The session was initiated with an inaugural session, wherein Head of PHDCCI Chhattisgarh State Office  Sumit Dubey made a formal announcement about opening of the session. Pradeep Tandon, Immediate Past Chairman, PHD Chamber, Chhattisgarh Chapter delivered the inaugural speech and enlightened the audience regarding the importance of Managing People and how unique is the task in itself. 

He covered the important aspects of understanding people, empathising them and further appreciating their sentiments and emotions which are imperative for effective man-management.C M Krishna shared with one and all Gallup’s Survey and taking note of the same introduced the concept of ‘Employee Engagement’. With supportive facts and figures, he substantiated the positive correlation between engagement and productivity. 

He  further stressed upon how to adopt different styles pertaining to management of engaged, non-engaged and highly disengaged employees. In the second half of the session, Dr (Cdr) Satish Seth dealt with aspects of leadership and further Conflict Resolution in specific situations.He discussed the different styles and approaches of leadership and further the pros and cons associated different styles. The workshop was well attended by Representatives from leading industries, Management Institutes and dignitaries.
