A police team traced out the accused who allegedly killed his two children and grievously injured wife in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh while he was making a suicidal bid by jumping before a speeding train, police said on Monday.
According to the police, the accused Kartik Banjare tried to commit suicide by jumping before a train and suffered multiple injuries. After being informed about the incident involving Banjare, police rushed to the spot and admitted him in the district hospital. Police is going to produce the accused before a local court after his condition improves.
The condition of victim and lone survivor of the incident Saraswati Chandravanshi is reported to be out of danger and she is responding well to the ongoing treatment, added police.
Kartik Banjare allegedly killed his two kids-daughter Tikeshwari (9) and son Tikam (11) in a fit of rage and fled the spot.
Initial investigation revealed that accused Banjare was frustrated by the victory of his wife Saraswati in Panchayat election and usually suggests her stay away from the politics. Kartik frequently had domestic altercation with Saraswati over an issue of her activeness in the politics.
