A Special Fast Track Court on Thursday awarded 20 years rigorous imprisonment to a 30-year-old man here for raping a seven-year-old girl.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Rajeev Kumar found Deepak Verma guilty, Special Public Prosecutor Morisha Naidu told The Pioneer. He was also fined `50,000.
The crime was committed here on June 25, 2018 when the victim was returning from a provision store. The girl shared her ordeal with her mother, who alerted the police.
