A man on Wednesday committed suicide after killing his lover, suspecting that she was having an affair, in Raipur city.
Kamlesh Sahu was found hanging from a ceiling fan while Archana Sahu was lying dead on the floor inside a room in a rented house, Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal said.
The incident took place on July 12-13 night in Bandhwapara area.
During the row, neighbours tried to pacify Kamlesh Sahu but he locked the room, killed Archana with a hammer and then hanged himself, the officer said.
They were residents of Fekari village in Durg district, he said. Kamlesh Sahu frequently visited her place as they were in a relationship for the last 12 years, Agrawal said.
