With the arrest of a 35-year-old man, Chhattisgarh Police on Friday claimed to have solved the murder of three persons including a woman and her minor son in a village in Surguja district.
Arvind Sirdar of Lainga village has been taken into custody, Surguja Superintendent of Police Anil Tukaram Kamble said.
Sirdar had slit the throats of Meghuram Sirdar (52), his daughter-in-law Kalawati Sirdar (27) and her son Chandrika (10).
Initially, he denied killing them but later confessed his involvement in the murders.
He told the police that he wanted Kalawati to have an extra marital affair with him. When she refused, he killed her with a sharp edged knife. He also murdered her son and father-in-law.
