Chhattisgarh Police on Sunday arrested a cash collection agent of a private firm for swindling Rs 12.71 lakhs in Raipur city. One of the accused is on the run.
Raipur Additional Superintendent of Police (Urban) Abhishek Maheshwari identified him as Purushottam Nirmalkar (35) of Durg district.
Efforts are on to nab his accomplice Fagulal Patel. He was a ticket booking agent in the firm.
The director of the Raipur-based travel agency lodged a cheating case against the two with the police.
Nirmalkar, nabbed from Pahanda village on the outskirts of Raipur, told the police that he did not deposit Rs 12.71 lakhs collected as payment for air ticket bookings between December 2022 and March 2023.
