Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday underlined the need for creating awareness among villagers regarding ‘Narva’, Gauthans, Rural Industrial Parks and other schemes.
He was holding a review meeting with officials at the Bagbahara Circuit House of Khallari Assembly constituency in Mahasamund district, an official communication said.
Baghel said the ‘Narva’ project will ultimately benefit farmers with ground water recharging. So, there is a need to accelerate its implementation. It should also be given wide publicity.
He sought detailed status of Narva projects in Mahasamund district. The Chief Executive Officer said the district has 54 such projects. Baghel laid emphasis on the need to implement them at a faster pace.
He asked officials to make regular purchases of cow dung to redress complaints of irregular procurement.
The other complaint was finding higher soil content in vermicompost. There is a need for quality management and regular monitoring, he said.
The Chief Minister said district officials need to ensure that hay stubble is not burnt in the fields. The famers must be made aware of its harmful effects.
He asked officials to conduct a survey of families left out of the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhoomiheen Majdoor Nyay Yojana.
Baghel asked police officers to take stern action against the sale of cannabis and illegal alcohol.
The District Chief Medical Officer should not indulge in turning the hospital into a referral facility, said the Chief Minister.
