Make Jheeram massacre probe report public: BJP

The Jheeram Valley report should be made public so that clouds of suspicion regarding the massacre of Congress leaders by alleged Naxalites will be cleared, Chhattisgarh BJP state President Vishnudeo Sai said on Monday.

A National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe was ordered by the Congress led-UPA government at the Centre. The then state government ordered a judicial probe and a report has been submitted, Sai told the media here.

Both reports are not acceptable to the Congress, Sai said.

Even if the report is submitted to the Governor, ultimately it will be handed over to the state government. But it should be made public so people should know the facts, said Sai.

The Jheeram Valley incident took place on May 25, 2013 when alleged Naxalites targeted a Congress Parivartan Yatra.

Those killed included then Pradesh Congress Committee President Nand Kumar Patel, Mahendra Karma, Uday Mudaliar, Dinesh Patel and former Union Minister Vidya Charan Shukla.
