In order to provide a better and healthy environment to children for study, it is necessary that the school building should be attractive and beautiful and all basic facilities should be available there, said Collector OP Choudhary.
While reviewing the activities of Education Department here, the Collector told all block education officers and block resource coordinators that all the school buildings in the district should be painted with same colour.
He ordered to paint those school buildings, which have not yet been painted, within a week. Besides, toilets, drinking water, electricity and necessary seating arrangements for children should be made available in the schools, he added.
Choudhary said that all teachers should be present in the school at the prescribed time and draw their salary as per the proposal of the Panchayat. Under the ‘School Watch System’ scheme, toll free number 1800-233-2557 should compulsorily be written on the walls of all school buildings, so that any problem related to the school could be registered by any person.
He asked them to distribute textbooks to all children immediately.
The Collector said that the School Management Committee has been empowered to arrange uniform for school children, under which the Committee will pass proposal and make arrangement for uniform through women self-help groups.
He asked the BEOs to identify the children studying in the schools, who have deformed lips and send the list to the district education office within 7 days, so that they could be treated by minor operation.
Teachers should give special attention on their subject and ensure the ability of children to study according to their age. The children who do not have the ability in accordance to their age should be identified and separate study arrangement should be made for them, so that they could study like other normal students.
