Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has called upon the people to unfurl the tricolour at their home, institutes and offices during the Independence Week from August 11 to 17.
A photo frame carrying the tricolour has been released by the Chhattisgarh government titling ‘Hamar Tiranga’ and people must use it as a Display Picture in their social media handles, he said.
Baghel said: “The tricolour depicts the dreams of our forefathers, their struggle and sacrifice. It displays the glorious tale of our Jawans and their martyrdom."
He added that the flag portrays the festivity "of our success in the freedom struggle and is also a symbol of unity in diversity”.
Every Indian should hoist the flag in their home and office and should encourage others to do so, he said.
