Mainpat is a confluence of Surgujhija, Bhojpuri and Tibetan culture, Chhattisgarh Tourism Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu said on Sunday at the final ceremony of ‘Mainpat Mohtsav’ held in Mainpat.

The three-day festival held in Ropakhar of Mainpat saw the participation of local and state level artists, an official press release said.

On the demand of Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat, who was present on the occasion, Sahu gave a green signal for the construction of approach roads for 14 different tourism spots in Mainpat.

“Mainpat is a confluence of Surgujhija, Bhojpuri and Tibetan culture. Mainpat is not only rich in natural beauty but has a magnificent history of culture. This is the reason why it has emerged as the favourite tourist destination,” Sahu said.

Mainpat’s soil has the essence of Lord Ram’s footprints. This is why the Chhattisgarh government is developing the ethnic resort at Kamleshwarpur by spending Rs 21 crores, he added.

He said the Forest Department was developing different tourism points and a budget of Rs 3.50 cores has been sanctioned.

The concluding ceremony was marked by the presence of Chhattisgarh Backward Commission Chairman Thaneshwar Sahu and others.
