Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday said the 2019 Lok Sabha election is a fight between truth and lies.

“The time has come to form a Congress government at the Centre as was done in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan by ending 15 years rule of the BJP,’’ Baghel remarked while addressing a public meeting at Dhar in Madhya Pradesh.

He had accompanied Congress president at election campaign rallies in Shajapur, Dhar and Khargone in Madhya Pradesh. Appreciating the efforts of Congress president Rahul Gandhi for raising concerns of poor and farmers, he said it is him who had initiated the loan waiver in states after Congress came to power, has promised jobs for youth, gave forest land rights to tribal and now he initiated to provide Rs 72,000 annually to poor through NYAY.

Baghel said, in the sixth phase of polling all should vote for the Congress. Interacting with media at Indore, Baghel said BJP president Amit Shah and Pragya Thakur have criminal backgrounds while Prime Minister continues to speak lies.

Baghel claimed that former chief minister Digvijay Singh would record a thumping victory from BJP bastion Bhopal seat.

Attacking the previous Chhattisgarh BJP government, he said due to Raman Singh’s blessing, the party which ruled the state for 15 years, was restricted to 15 seats in the 2018 assembly elections. He said cine stars have been roped in by the BJP as its candidates while the seasoned politicians’ such as union external affairs, defence and finance ministers are out of the fray.
