“Irrespective of the fact the person is a minister or an MLA, only a candidate whoever is winnable would be fielded by the Congress for the Lok Sabha polls”, said Minister for Agriculture, Water Resources, Law and Legal affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Ravindra Choubey.
He, however, added that a final decision in this regard has to be taken by the party high command. Choubey was speaking to media persons here at Mahanadi Bhawan, Atal Nagar after briefing about the cabinet decisions.
Commenting on a query on scheduled visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah, he said, “It was good that they are arriving but they must see as how state BJP leaders are treating female scribe and attacking journalists.”
Regarding 10 percent reservations to the general category, Choubey said Congress had backed the bill in parliament, so in state, it will enforce reservations soon.
Commenting on a query whether the state government was taking a loan, the minister said, “Many major decisions have been taken by the state government including the farm loan waiver. So, if, there was a need for some loan, it could be taken”.
