Surguja and Bilaspur district administrations in Chhattisgarh on Saturday declared week-long lockdowns beginning from September 21 and 22 respectively.
The lockdown in Bilaspur will start at 5:00 am on September 22 and conclude on September 28 at 12 midnight. Emergency services will remain unaffected, said an order by Collector Dr Saransh Mittar.
By September 19, Bilaspur had recorded 5,834 Covid cases. Daily, 250 to 300 people are becoming Covid positive in the district, the order said.
In Surguja district, the lockdown will begin at 9:00 pm on September 21 and end on September 28 at midnight, said an order issued by Collector Sanjeev Jha.
By September 19, 1,386 persons had been found Covid positive in the district. About 50 to 70 cases are detected every day in Surguja, the order said.
